Removing a larval seed-tick cluster

Six-legged larvae often attach in dense clusters; sticky tape lifts dozens at once before you finish individuals with tweezers.

Steps

schema.org/HowTo
  1. 01
Do not panic — larvae rarely carry pathogens, but the cluster is itchy and easy to miss one.
  2. 02
Press a strip of wide packing or lint-roller tape firmly onto the cluster, then peel it off; most larvae come with the tape.
  3. 03
Repeat with fresh tape until no moving specks remain.
  4. 04
Use fine-tip tweezers to remove any stragglers one by one at skin level.
  5. 05
Wash the area with soap and warm water, then apply an antiseptic.
  6. 06
Tumble-dry exposed clothing on high heat for 10 minutes to kill larvae you carried inside.
