Magnification accessory (loupe / phone macro lens) for nymphs

A 10x jeweler's loupe or a clip-on phone macro lens turns a 1 mm nymph from invisible to obviously a tick.

Steps

schema.org/HowTo
  1. 01
Carry a 10x jeweler's loupe in the first-aid kit, or a clip-on macro lens for the phone.
  2. 02
With the loupe, brace your hand against the body part so the loupe sits 2-3 cm from the skin.
  3. 03
With the phone macro lens, hold the phone close enough that the bump fills the frame, then tap to focus.
  4. 04
Confirm the bump has 6 or 8 legs before tweezing — moles, scabs, and skin tags do not.
  5. 05
Use needle-point tweezers for anything this small; flat-tip tweezers cannot grasp a nymph cleanly.
